Westminster Hosts Venues for Inaugural Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival

July 13, 2015 Festival performances to be held throughout Sugar House SALT LAKE CITY - As part of the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, Westminster College will host several performances on campus from Aug. 6-9, 2015. Performances will take place in the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts and Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory. The Great Salt Lake Fringe is a multi-day performing arts festival in the heart of Sugar House. More than 30 artists will perform over 200 shows, which include theatre, dance, music, aerial arts, puppetry, magic, spoken word and more. Westminster theatre professor, Michael Vought, is the founder of the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, which is a non-profit organization funded through a grant from the college. "Westminster students from a diverse array of majors helped create this interactive event and will also participate in the program," Vought said. "Fringe brings artists together to tell their stories and unites them with local businesses and the public within an accessible performing arts community." The Fringe will take place in the heart of Sugar House, with all venues within walking distance of 2100 South and Highland Drive. Festival general admission tickets are $10.
