Housing Deposits

New Students (Incoming Students)

The housing deposit is covered as part of the enrollment deposit for new students. An additional payment is not required. You can pay your enrollment deposit in your admissions portal.

Current Students

All current residents (current students) must pay a $200 housing deposit for housing for the next year. This includes a $50 room reservation fee that is non-refundable. You will receive instructions via email about how to pay this deposit.

Accommodations

The residence halls have accommodations for people with disabilities. Contact Student Disability Services at disabilityservices@westminstercollege.edu or 801.832.2272 for details. Additionally, be sure to include any relevant information on your roommate preference form when submitting your housing registration.

Living on Campus During Breaks

Residential students who want to stay on campus during fall break, Thanksgiving break, or spring break must submit a break request form. Requests are honored as long as the student is in good standing with the college and you submit the request by the deadline, which is 1 week prior to the start of the break.

On-campus housing is closed during the breaks between terms. Students who have a legitimate necessity to occupy on-campus housing during any break must apply for break housing no later than 1 week before the end of the semester. If approved, the student must pay a daily occupancy rate. There will be no housing extensions after Summer Session 1.

Let’s Talk Roommates

It’s one of the first things on your mind as you start preparing to make the move to college: but who will my roommate be? It’s simple, roommates are matched based on the roommate preference information you provide in your housing application.

We know what you’re thinking: what if I don’t get along with my roommate? Learning to navigate shared spaces and new personalities is part of the fun and the growing experience of college. You’ll have a roommate agreement to utilize with your resident advisor if things get sticky.

If you have a friend or specific person you want to live with, don’t worry, you may be paired with one another—though it’s not guaranteed. You will need to create and accept a roommate group in the housing portal and the requested roommate must accept the roommate group. If a member of the roommate group does not accept, you won’t be paired. Individuals cannot create or accept a roommate group until after they have completed their housing application for the term.
