FLATS Exam
The Foreign Language Achievement Testing Services (FLATS), administered through BYU, provides you the opportunity to receive up to 12 semester hours of university credit by examination. The following language exams are available:

Procedure
- You may earn a maximum of 40 credits though examinations and a maximum of 88 credits overall from external sources (e.g., transfer and examinations) and they should be applied before you reach senior status. You may not receive additional credit from exams if the credit has already been received through coursework. If you have any concerns about how the credits earned from the FLATS will impact your degree at Westminster, you should meet with your faculty advisor or the graduation coordinator in the Registrar’s Office before registering for any exams.
- Register for the FLATS exam.
- If you want to take the test before spring semester, under "Proctor Information,"

- Pay another $60 fee to the Westminster Cashier in Bamberger Hall prior to the day of your exam.
- Email the Testing Center at testingcenter@westminstercollege.edu or call 801.832.2116 to schedule your exam. You must indicate three days/times you can take your exam.
You must choose a 2.5-hour window during the Testing Center's FLATS exam times.
