Students are strongly encouraged to consult with their academic advisor(s), Financial Aid, and Student Account Services and complete any required program exit interviews before submitting this request for leave of absence. Campus residents must complete the check-out process through Residence Life. International students should contact International Student Services prior to leaving.

A leave of absence involves an interruption of enrollment usually for less than three regular semesters for military or religious service, medical issues, employment, or financial reasons. Students on a leave remain active students at Westminster while they are not enrolled. Those who do not return to school after the approved leave will be considered withdrawn and will be expected to reapply for admission. This status does not defer university loans. Leaves longer than three regular terms require documentation of military or religious service and Westminster will hold institutional scholarships, provided you do not attend another school before returning to Westminster. For longer leaves, governing catalog requirements will be updated based upon return semester.
