The Executive branch consists of the President, Vice President, and the Executive Directors. Executive serves to oversee the budget, creative projects and representation of student voices.

Student Body President

The Student Body President is the chief liaison to the Board of Trustees and board committees. The president selects and leads the Executive Directors as well as oversees the management of the ASW office and its functions. The President represents Westminster University on a local, state, and national level by serving on the executive board of the Utah Student Association and being a member of the National Campus Leadership Council.

Vice President

The Student Body Vice President is the student representative within ASW, responsible for Alumni relationships and furthering the goals of the Career Center. The Vice President sits on several Board of Trustees committees and is responsible for hiring directors to assist with the student government’s responsibilities. This position’s duty is to actively advocate for and represent students in the internal campus community, in addition to assisting the Student Body President.

Director of Budget and Accounting

The Director of Budget and Accounting keeps budget records for ASW, authorizes all expenses, and reports financial information to the student body. The Director of Budget and Accounting also chairs the Opportunity Fund Committee.


Executive Creative Director

The Executive Creative Director manages all ASW promotions, and provides promotional assistance to any student club or activity. They act as a resource to advertise upcoming events and student involvement opportunities––from a simple poster to a rigorous advertising campaign.

The ASW Creative team is responsible for serving as a resource for all of ASW and other school-related organizations to advertise upcoming events and student involvement opportunities. Related to these tasks, the team develops creative campaigns including posters, banners, social media campaigns, logo design, and more. The ASW Executive Creative Director also manages the website.

Creative Senior Designer (1)

The Creative Senior Designer assists the Executive Creative Director in carrying out ASW Creative's duties. They receive weekly design projects which require good time management and client-relationship skills. The Senior Designer is expected to coordinate with project leads in order to effectively complete each project and provide guidance for the Design Team.

Social Media Coordinator

The ASW Social Media Coordinator will serve as the mechanism in which ASW releases its communique to the student body, and the larger Westminster community. The Coordinator will facilitate strategy and implementation for ASW’s social media presence, and brainstorm methods for soliciting feedback and engagement from students. The Coordinator will work closely with and report directly to the ASW Executive Creative Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing all ASW social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Working closely with the Executive Creative Director to determine strategy and implementation of social media posts.
  • Publishing content generated by the ASW Creative Team.
  • Creating a content calendar for all platforms.
  • Analyzing and evaluate both existing and potential social media activities and strategies.
  • Planning, managing, coordinating, and executing all social media programs, initiatives, and campaigns.
  • Responding to day-to-day messages received by ASW.
  • Establishing a mode of communication between all branches of ASW for requests for social media posts.
  • Enforce the ASW brand guidelines.
  • Participate constructively in inter-branch communications.

Requirements:

  • At least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Must be in good standing with the university.

 Pay and Hours: 

  • $8.00 for 6 hrs/week

ASW Events Logo

ASW Events coordinates, plans, and oversees all student events, activities, and programs. We aim to provide students with the best social and co-curricular experience possible

ASW Events President

The ASW Events President is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all events, activities, and programs for the students of Westminster University and the greater campus community. In programming these events, the Events President works with the ASW Events Team and manages all positions while acting as a member of the Student Board.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be the presiding member of ASW Events.
  • Oversee and manage all ASW Events positions.
  • Sit as a voting member of the ASW Student Board
  • Enhance the quality of student life through the planning and implementation of student events, activities, and programs.
  • Be responsible for the planning, overseeing, initiating, calendaring, and implementation of all student events, activities, and programs.
  • Improve upon existing programs and initiate new programs to better serve a diverse student body.
  • Chair and manage any and all meetings of ASW Events.
  • Work with the ASW Events Senior Coordinators, as well as any other individual, organization, or programs required to ensure success at every event, activity, and program

ASW Events Senior Coordinators (2)

The ASW Events Senior Coordinators work with the Events President in the planning and organization of events and activities throughout the year. They directly support and oversee the Event Coordinators of the ASW Events team. They are higher in experience in event planning than Events Coordinators.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the ASW Events President to improve upon existing programs and initiate new programs to better serve a diverse student body.
  • Work with the ASW Events Coordinators to insure success at ASW Events events, activities, and programs.
  • Work with the ASW Events Street Team to ensure successful setup and take down of ASW Events programs.
  • Aid in the selection ASW Events Coordinators.
  • Attend all ASW Events Team meetings.
  • Mentor ASW Events Coordinators
  • Other duties as assigned

ASW Events Coordinators (4) 

The ASW Events Coordinators assist the ASW Events President and ASW Events Senior Coordinators in planning all campus activities. They have the opportunity to work with the entire team to promote a fun and inviting campus community. They are leaders who plan exciting events and develop strong professional skills. Previous event planning experience preferred, but additional training will be given upon your selection.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the ASW Events President in planning all events, activities, and programs on campus.
  • Work with various departments on campus to ensure the success of ASW Events.
  • Work with other branches of the Associated Students of Westminster (ASW) to create collaboration and aid in goals and priorities.
  • Ensure all paperwork, contracts, forms, and other documentation for events are completed in the proper timeline.
  • Attend all ASW Events meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ASW Events Street Team

The ASW Events Street Team is a group of individuals that want to help in the promotion, setup, take down, and running of campus events. They have the opportunity to get connected to campus leaders and is a great way to get involved to help out the events team if not selected.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the ASW Events Team by attending events ready to ensure day-of success at events
  • Communicate with the ASW Events Team with what events are needed of the Street Team to attend.
  • Promote ASW Events on social medias and throughout campus.

ASW Clubs Logo

Clubs oversees the function and creation of approved clubs on campus. Clubs is also responsible for promoting inter-club dialogue and collaboration.

Clubs President

The Clubs branch of ASW allows students to form new clubs and improve upon existing clubs. It is overseen by the Clubs President, whom coordinates service projects, facilitates advertising and helps students in the process of creating clubs. The President is also head of the Clubs board.

The Clubs Council will be appointed by the new Clubs Body (club representatives) during the last Clubs Body Meeting of the Spring Semester.

ASW Senate Logo

Senate drafts, approves, and amends legislation which governs the structures and functions of ASW. Senate also expresses their position on ASW, campus, and external events through resolutions. Senators represent student voices by introducing and reviewing legislation and through serving together on committees.

Speaker of the Senate

The Speaker of the Senate sits on the ASW Executive board and is chosen by the incoming ASW Senators at the last Senate meeting of each year. 

To be appointed as speaker, students must be elected into the ASW Senate as a senator for the upcoming academic year. 

The duties of the speaker include: to call and chair meetings of the Senate, to carry out directives of the Senate, and to distribute relevant information to individual Senate members and the student community prior to general Senate meetings.

Senators represent students within the academic class, school, or group they were elected to serve. They work to create a campus culture where Senate acts as a student forum for the concerns, comments, and ideas of the student body.

All students planning to run must attend a mandatory candidate meeting in February.

Senate committees for 2020-2021:  

Financial Oversight

  • This Committee is responsible for all financial related matters in ASW.

Diversity and Inclusion 

  • This committee will work towards developing and supporting ASW initiatives that work towards a more diverse and inclusive campus and advocate for students on any matters dealing with diversity and inclusion on our campus.

Student Initiatives 

  • This committee will work to support ongoing and newly developed campus initiatives and promote specific projects that affect all students and improve student life.

Student Relations and Communication

  • This committee will work towards establishing clear communication with students, enact new methods to make passed, pending, and proposed legislation more accessible to students, and increase student body involvement with ASW.

ASW Judicial Logo

Judicial reviews and enforces the governing documents approved by the Senate. The Judicial branch is also charged with reviewing and approving club constitutions.

Chief Justice

The Judicial branch of ASW reviews all club constitutions and enforces all ASW guiding documents. The branch is overseen by the Chief Justice whom is also the administrative coordinator to the President, mentor to the Senate and leader of the Judicial Council.
