Staff Professional Development Fund
Staff Council is dedicated to supporting professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, webinars, training, and other activities that help you develop professionally in your field. Learning opportunities that build diversity and inclusion awareness, knowledge, and skills are encouraged as they support campus efforts for inclusive excellence. Awards will be a partial or total amount depending on the amount you requested, typically in the range of $50 to $500. How to Apply
Step 1: Determine Eligibility
- You must be a full-time staff member that works 30 or more hours per week that has been employed with the college for 6 months or longer.
- The activity must be a workshop, seminar, webinar, training, or other activity that would help you develop professionally in your field. The fund is not intended to be used for academic tuition, annual certifications, or membership fees.
- You can receive 1 award every 2 years.
Step 2: Complete Application
Complete and submit an application by one of the deadlines. In your form, you must explain how this activity will support you as well as the value you expect the development opportunity to provide you, your department/office, and/or Westminster College as a whole.
Step 3: Supervisor Completes Form
Your supervisor must submit a supervisor comments form as a part of your application.

Step 4: Consideration
Within 7 business days after a deadline, staff council will consider all eligible applications and communicate approval. Upon approval, awardees will receive instructions on how to charge expenses and information on a follow-up summary. It is the employee's responsibility to complete event registration.
