About

Matt Neves is Dean of the Westminster College of Arts and Sciences at Westminster University.  He was most recently the Director of Instruction for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  Prior to the Academy, he acted as the Head of Theater at College of the Desert, the Artistic Director of Riverside Repertory Theater, and the Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Region VIII.  Matt has also served as the Producing Artistic Director for Performance Riverside and the Associate Dean/Director of Arts Administration at Southern Utah University.   

Previously, he was the Associate Artistic Director for the Neil Simon Festival and Associate Managing Director for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival.  Directing credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Reasons to Be Happy, Next to Normal, Grey Gardens, Spring Awakening, West Side Story, Assassins, La Cage Aux Folles, Fiddler on the Roof, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Secret Garden, Christmas Carol: On the Air, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Oklahoma!, The Mikado, Chicago, Rumors, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, Broadway Bound, Chapter Two, Fools, Born Yesterday, George Washington Slept Here, You Can’t Take It With You, Miss Saigon, Lend Me a Tenor, Beyond the Horizon, How To Succeed, Forum, The Laramie Project, Biloxi Blues.  

Matt has degrees in acting and directing from University of Exeter (MFA) and Brigham Young University (BA), and an MBA from Illinois State University.  He has four great kids, two of which will start college in the fall at Westminster.
