Despite the severe consequences of driving under the influence, DUI's still occur far too often. One of the biggest reasons for this is the fact that patrons simply do not know when they are too intoxicated to drive. Everyone processes alcohol differently, and there are no universal standards to predict someone's blood alcohol content. BreathAdvisor™ eliminates the unknown factor and provides an accurate measurement, every time. BreathAdvisor™ has created a cutting-edge touchscreen kiosk housing law enforcement grade fuel cell breathalyzers to provide a blood alcohol content reading accurate to +/- 0.005. The kiosks even have the ability to connect with local transportation companies to provide patrons a fast and easy way to get a ride home. Our company installs and maintains kiosks at no charge to venue owners. Once the kiosk is installed, any patron can get an accurate, anonymous breathalyzer reading of their current blood alcohol content for a small fee. We also offer interactive advertising services to companies wishing to show their support for responsible drinking. BreathAdvisor™ strives to reduce DUI related incidents by providing customers with an anonymous, accurate B.A.C. reading and, if necessary, a safe option to get home.

Future Growth Plans

We have begun production of our first 10 kiosks and plan to implement them around Salt Lake City, Utah in early November 2012. We plan to begin our national expansion phase early next year.

Major Accomplishments

Finalized the first kiosk in July, 2012. We have been endorsed by a publicly traded company (LifeLoc Technologies, Colorado). We were featured on CityWeekly and various kiosk news sites.

  • Industry: Software

Chaos Buffalo Games is a video game development studio with a focus on creating cross-platform multitouch games and tools for game development. We believe there is a growing accessibility issue in the market for game development tools resulting from recent trends in hardware and the growth of new operating systems. Most game development tools currently run only on Windows or OSX with plans only to allow their developers to target Android and iOS devices for their finished products. With emerging markets and younger generations preferring tablet and smartphones to the traditional setup, it is imperative to create tools that allow potential artists and developers to take advice of the power of these devices. Our mission is to “give our customers the power to develop and share games for any platform, on any platform.” The custom, open-source technology stack underlying everything we do allows us to quickly and painlessly build software for nearly every combination of hardware, software, and input devices out there. Whether it is a Windows, OSX, Linux, Android, or iOS device using any combination of input types: mouse, keyboard, gamepad, touchscreen, or motion sensors like the Microsoft Kinect. We firmly believe that anyone with a computer should have the power to create and express themselves, regardless of that computer's hardware and OS, and our game engine is the first game engine built from the ground up with development on mobile and desktop platforms in mind.

Future Growth Plans

Chaos Buffalo Games is currently developing the first game to use our in-house engine, 'You're the Captain of a Spaceship', a game about exploration, interstellar trade, and piracy heavily inspired by the Age of Discovery. The game is currently planned for release 3rd quarter 2014, with a paid beta beginning earlier in the year.

Major Accomplishments

Our game engine, began in April of 2013, currently clocks in at over 12,000 lines of code representing around 3 years worth of development time using the COCOMO model.

The Cafe© is an educational technology tool and collaborative learning suite that is used by teachers, tutors, and students. The collaboration suite is an interactive whiteboard with streaming video and audio. The educational software activates the user’s webcam and shared whiteboard for live discussions between students and teachers and/or students to student communication for project and assignment collaborations. Students and teachers access The Cafe© through their school’s Learning Management System (LMS) such as Instructure’s Canvas LMS. Cranium Cafe’s interactive learning whiteboard is more then a learning website, it allows relationship building between teachers and students and peer-to-peer. The Cranium Cafe one-on-one online collaboration tool contributes to increased academic achievements, graduation goals, and academic enrollment.

Future Growth Plans

Cranium Cafe is already positioned to offer The Cafe communications platform and the Cafe Scheduler for private companies. We will install our software into their client management system (CMS) so they can communicate with customers on a global scale. We have also begun to develop this software into a micro enterprise system which will be a knowledge marketplace. The micro enterprise system will allow individuals their own cafe and profile for their virtual storefront. They can set their hourly rate and share their knowledge and receive payment for their one-one-one knowledge sharing.

Major Accomplishments

Overview

Chair 83 Productions was established to create a documentary chronicling the inspirational story of Brolin Mawejje. Coming from humble beginnings in Uganda, Brolin was fortunate enough to find his way to America as a 12 year old. But his initial move to Massachusetts revealed it's own set of adversities. Brolin struggled to find his path in an unfamiliar culture and battled depression, abandonment, and anger. It was not until Brolin found snowboard that the doors of life started to open. Currently a pre-med student at Westminster University, Brolin is well on track to becoming an orthopedic. He also has dreams to become the first Ugandan to snowboard in the Winter Olympics.

Future Growth Plans

As Brolin's story continues to grow so does our project. What started as just an idea has grown into a life changing experience for Brolin and the whole Far From Home team. The past is written but we are in the middle of what could become one of the greatest underdog stories of all time. We will document Brolin's future as it happens, but retrace his journey starting in Uganda to tell his past. As the story unfolds, the project grows bigger and bigger. Brolin's story truly has the power to inspire anyone facing challenges in their own life. The imagery and contrast that this journey contains will reach into the hearts of an audience worldwide and empower anyone to pursue their dreams.

Major Accomplishments

Our biggest milestone thus has far has been the launch party we hosted in the Gore Auditorium on Westminster campus. We pushed the capacity of the auditorium as all seats were filled and people lined the stairs to get a first look at Far From Home. We had a great group of sponsors there including Redbull, Saga, Discrete, JibBrand, and the Utah Film Commission. We could not have asked for a better turnout and this event was a testament to all the progress we made this year.

In an attempt to fill a gap in the luxury market, Alex has focused on sterling silver, using gold and rhodium plating to enhance and reinforce the designs. With the skyrocketing price of metals, Alex Stein Design set out on a mission to bring fine jewelry to market at substantially lower prices than pieces made in gold. Avoiding cheap base metals, we use sterling silver to create timeless pieces with stones such as Diamonds, Sapphires, Rubies and a variety of semi precious stones with brilliant cuts and clarity. Rhodium and gold plating give a luster that mimics platinum and gold, and mocks their prices without compromising quality. Our customer is every woman, and any man that might want to please her.

Major Accomplishments

In an effort to reduce waste and our footprint, we use mainly recycled silver, never mixing alloys. Environmentally friendly processes are incorporated into the production process, and wastes are recycled properly and without harm to our planet. We create designs with a strong commitment quality and practices of universally accepted and progressive labor and environmental conditions. Delivered with professionalism by backing our product with integrity.

Provide a professional business analysis of dental practices which provide net profit and income per hour for each third party dental plan they contract with (or might contract with). At this time, most dentists do not know how much money (if any) they make with each dental plan, even though 70-95% of their income comes directly from insurance reimbursement.

Future Growth Plans

Looking at possible partnerships with other dental service companies, including the Dental Cooperative, possibly as an "advisory service" or even in-house. Also want to expand service online for a monthly fee, which each practice can update themselves, allowing them to see real-time results from increase/decrease of fees to adding/dropping insurances. Also looking at negotiating with insurances for higher fees directly on behalf of dentists.

Major Accomplishments
